This might look like a cycle track crossing the side-road, but in fact it's only used by joggers in this prosperous neighbourhood. There's a clear need for a cycle track alongside this hectic car-dominated artery.
Despite appearances, this is not a cycle track crossing the side road, though one is badly needed on this traffic-dominated one-way avenue (photo taken on a Saturday morning - it's usually much busier).
Buenos Aires suburban trains carry bikes at all times, in an area marked 'fourgon' (and using the disabled gates to the platforms).
Cyclists use pedestrian crossings to get across major avenues - a standard survival tactic in Buenos Aires.
Buenos Aires has essentially no cycle parking (and lots of crime), so people lock their bikes to anything they can find - these are barriers to keep a disabled crossing clear.
