[Image taken 9.8.19] Hazel Court, York. The sign at the area of the recycling centre specifically for people who do not arrive in a motor vehicle. Other towns and cities need to emulate this. Not to do so is an example of motonormativity (psyarxiv.com/egnmj) – demonstrating bias towards behaviours involving or requiring a car or a van or sanctioning such attitudes that in another situation would be unacceptable.
[FOI RESPONSE] I sent a FoI request:
Please can you tell me when the part of Hazel Court recycling centre first opened for use by people arriving by another means than in a motor vehicle.
CYC replied on 3.10.23. The answer is April 2006.
