Closure to motor vehicles to allow social distancing

Closure to motor vehicles to allow social distancing

This road is one of many used as a rat run by very fast drivers at rush hour to get to and from the Quarry junction to the ring road. It should be turned into a Low Traffic Neighbourhood.

This road is one of many used as a rat run by very fast drivers at rush hour to get to and from the Quarry junction to the ring road. It should be turned into a Low Traffic Neighbourhood.

These roads (Div, Southfield and side streets) should be access only

James St, fast traffic, narrow road and pavements, needs closing between St Mary's Rd and James St to stop through traffic

Cowley Road is dangerous for cyclists.

Resident, delivery, taxi and bus-only access. We must move towards a car-free environment. Non-residents need to find other ways of getting into town.

The pavements on the hill section of Old Road are too narrow to social distance, and cycling here can be very intimidating and dangerous especially for children travelling to Cheney or Windmill. Now that the buses go through the Churchill … [more]

Prior to the pandemic there was a problem with rat running through many roads within the block. A full time filtered closure at the junction of Margaret/York road, along with those suggested at quarry High street/Road and on St Leonards … [more]

Bus gate as part of Flo Park LTN.

Filter as part of Flo Park LTN.

Closure to vehicles so that Beauchamp Lane becomes a street for walking and cycling as it is is part of a cycle route from E Oxford to Blackbird Leys

Closure does wonders for overall traffic flow through Oxford. But need to consult with local shops how to best create signage and access for shoppers.

North of here is very high number of multiple car ownership with both on & off street parking. All residents should stop owning/driving cars, entire area made fully pedestrian/cycling only. All roads should have picnic tables, benches to … [more]

There is no need to close Walton Street. It will create chaos for residents in side streets, create new rat runs and damage business. We don't have the climate for widespread outdoor seating - and any increase in the use of outdoor space … [more]

Pavement parking leaves insufficient pedestrian/wheelchair access even before covid. Excessive vehicle speeds - road should be closed or one way with.

Road too small for the current volume of traffic (pre-coronavirus). Access only traffic to be permitted.

Do not bring buses into Broad Street as this will hugely reduce the quality of the space and prevent pedestrian use of the public space, and space for outdoor cafe seating, public seating.

Close Bartlemas Rd, Southfield Rd and Divinity Rd to prevent rat running, congestion, pollution, improve safety, reduce noise, and enable social distancing.

Access only closure of this road, which is a rat run between Cowley and Hill top Roads.

It could also be beneficial for the road to be access only to prevent a rat run between Southfield and Divinity Roads

It has been used as a throughway, so would be best for a cycleway alternative to the Cowley Road

High volume of traffic

Too much through traffic

Please don't make the area a one way system or this will allow cars to drive faster, with fewer obstructions. Two way traffic does at least create some natural traffic calming and creating a one way system will give greater priority to the … [more]

Something needs to be done to slow the speed of cars on Morrell Avenue. More speed responsive signage and police checks.

The road is used as a cut through and many of the cars speed which makes it dangerous for getting my toddler in and out of the car - often the cars do not wait for me to do this and squeeze past me which is terrifying. The number and … [more]

There is an overwhelming amount of traffic on a small residential street. Often traffic becomes backed up well past one even two turns. I regularly see parked cars with broken mirrors, side damage, and other incidents. Thank you

People speeding through dangerously between Divinity and Southfield. Make the whole area from Hill Top to Cowley rd between Divinity and Southfield residents access only.

Too much thro traffic, not safe for cyclists

Used as a cut-through between Cowley & Iffley Roads, but pavement is very narrow at the Hurst St end. Has high foot and bicycle traffic.

Too much traffic trying to use a road where only one car can pass. Make it access only.

Too much traffic trying to use a road where only one car can pass. Make it access only.

Access only road, for residents. Wider pavement, and possibly street parking only, remove the on-curb parking on the west side

Leopold Street, Hurst Street, Aston Street is used as a rat run by drivers wanting to avoid the speed humps on Magdalen Road. A filter here only allowing bikes through would cut out all of this traffic while leaving easy access to all … [more]

Too much speeding traffic up residential roads - dangerous to cycle, narrow pavements

This street should be closed to through traffic. It is used as a rat run by taxis and other none residential vehicles. The pavements are very narrow and with the amount of cars parked on either side of the road, there is always a traffic … [more]

Close Southfield Rd to prevent congestion and enable social distancing, especially for all school and uni students

Close Divinity Rd to through traffic to prevent congestion on Rd and enable social distancing

Close Bullingdon Road to through traffic. Its a rat run for taxis, and cars and larger lorries between the Iffley and Cowley Roads.

This road should be closed to traffic other than shop deliveries (with a bollard preventing cars from accessing it at other times). Many cars illegally park at this junction both on the road and pavement blocking the road for cyclists. and … [more]

In theory cars cannot enter Bullingdon road here but cars often go through the wrong way, also many non residential cars use Bullindgon Road as a cut through between the iffley road and cowley road which means residents in particular … [more]

Non-residential traffic - both cars, taxis and vans use this spot to pavement park at the junction blocking the pavement. At the same time many vehicles use this narrow residential street as a cut through meaning pedestrians cannot social … [more]

Howard Street is increasingly becoming a rat-run, which makes it dangerous for cyclists and children. If the road was blocked between Golden Road and Catherine St, it would still be easy for local residents to work there way round, but … [more]

Stop cars from entering central Oxford. Not enough space for cars.

Close to car through traffic. Underpass not wide enough for car access and no space for cars in Central Oxford anyway. No reasons to allow cars past this point.

Bridge needs a modal filter to remove through car traffic. Not enough space in central Oxford for cars.

Close Margaret Road to rat runners, vehicles for access to Margaret Road only.

Close Windmill Road to rat runners, promote bus and cycle use. Encourage motorists to use ring road and London Road.

Filter rectory Road to prevent motor through traffic and improve conditions for people walking or cycling or living in the area. There is no reason whatsoever for motor through traffic on that road.

Warneford Lane should be filtered to remove car through traffic, that would make Warneford Lane itself safe and also improve the whole neighbourhood. Current road layout on Warneford Lane is the worst in all of Oxford.

Filter motor through traffic to improve liveability and conditions for people walking and cycling.

Not enough space for motor through traffic. Should be filtered to improve conditions for walking and cycling.

The road is so dangerous; so many children going to schools and nurseries and cars tear through so fast. Cowley Rd is plenty wide and fast enough to handle the rat runners
